Session 2 - God’s Story

Welcome to the second session of the Discover A(D) workshop. This session is called God’s Story. Below is a list of what to expect from Session 2, how to prepare for it, and some pro tips to help you as you walk through it.

  • Session 2 - God’s Story - From Session 2, you can expect:

    • A focus on Jesus as the centerpiece of God’s story

    • A fresh reminder of what the Gospel is and its relevance to our daily moments, needs, and struggles

    • An awareness of how the father of lies distorts our understanding of who we are and who God is

    • An opportunity to be restored to the Truth by applying the Gospel to those lies we’ve held

    • A chance to capture notes on why we personally love and follow Jesus and what it is He’s given us to be stewards of for the sake of others

  • Pro Tips for Session 2

    • The main point of this session is to help people understand how the Gospel applies to their everyday lives. In the A(D) Team Series, we will talk about the importance of Gospel motivation. This session plants the seeds of preparing people’s hearts by helping them grasp the significance of the Gospel in their everyday lives. Our prayer is that people will fall in love with Jesus more when they see that His Good News changes everything!

    • When you follow up with your team, ask them how they would describe what the Gospel means. When people can say it in their own words, it deepens their understanding.

    • Help people notice any possible patterns in the lies that show up across their storyboard. Oftentimes, people will experience different versions of the same lie throughout different seasons in their story. Noticing the patterns will help identify the main root, and from there, the Gospel can be applied.
