We've changed our name!
After nearly a decade of development, reFocusing was launched in 1993, focusing on the character-based spiritual development of pastors. For the next fifteen years, we trained and coached 4,000+ pastors from 35+ denominations – applying principles of Dr. J. Robert Clinton’s Leadership Emergence Theory. While pastors, lay leaders, and churches became healthier and more effective, there was little measurable impact outside the walls of the Church.
Humbled by these findings, we renovated our purpose and process to imbed missional focus, behaviors and culture in congregations. For the next 10+ years, we mobilized hundreds of churches to regularly, repeatedly, personally, generously and unconditionally serve those outside the Church in public schools, community centers, police stations, civic government, nursing homes, and fire houses.
Now, we have made another shift in our focus, and with that shift comes a name change. We are moving from reFocusing to ACTIVATE(D), from focusing on missional engagement to focusing on making new disciples of Jesus. We have coalesced around the vision of seeing Christ glorified in whole neighborhoods and networks of NEW disciples. We are helping Christians launch and lead teams into courageous life on mission with Jesus – leading them to discover the unique Gospel-calling that God has given them, training them in the making of new disciples of Jesus and helping them form their own close-knit teams to make disciples with amongst those they love!
