  • Summary: A look at how gratefulness for the Gospel produces a natural desire to be with God and know Him more; practicing spiritual disciplines as “want-tos” as opposed to “have-tos”; testifying to who God is, what He has done, and what He is doing; and sharing those things with others for their joy and His glory

  • Objective:

    • To respond to the Gospel in us with an overflowing desire to know God more and celebrate who He is with others.

• Key Ideas and Highlights of Session IV

  • Sustaining Practices and Natural Outcomes: Prayer, reading His Word, and talking about Him are not only incredible natural outcomes of a growing joy in the Gospel, but they are also three primary sustaining practices that fuel even more joy in the Lord.

  • Testimony: Three questions you have been asking and that we want to highlight for you are: What is God doing in you, through you, and around you? The practice of being aware of what God is doing creates space for people to respond with joy.

• Pro Tips for Facilitating Session IV

  • Help your Team members connect the dots between recognizing what God has been doing in, through, and around them and the overflowing joy that rises within our hearts as a response. It is our desire that everyone on an ACTIVATE(D) Team would have a Gospel motivation. Testimonies of what God is actively doing in our lives increase our joy and affection for Jesus and root our motivation in the Gospel.

  • A great practical exercise your Team will do, as they get ready for Session IV, is praying through the Psalms. Encourage your Team to continue this practice as they move through the A(D) Team Series. The more they practice, the more they will become familiar with and experience a deeper connection with the Lord.
