Session 1 - My Story

Welcome to the first session of the Discover A(D) workshop. This session is called My Story. Here is a list of what to expect from Session 1, how to prepare for it, and some pro tips to help you as you walk through it.

• Session 1 - My Story - From Session 1, you can expect:

  • A welcome from the facilitator and you as the Coach

  • An introduction to ACTIVATE(D) and its vision for disciple-making

  • An invitation to pursue more with Jesus

  • An opportunity to build a personal life “storyboard” that consists of all significant pleasant and painful memories and identify major turning points in which God was working

• Preparing for Session 1

  • Watch the video below to get a preview of the workshop session.

  • Review the breakout questions for the session.

  • Spend time with Jesus praying for your Team.

• Pro Tips for Session 1

  • Be mindful that as people work on their storyboards, some may be overwhelmed by the pain of their past. Be attentive. Be present. Be prayerful. And if someone on your Team needs extra help, be proactive and let us know. We want to connect you with people who can support you.

  • Connect with each member of your Team within 24-48 hours after the session to see how they experienced this session. You will be able to identify who might need additional help processing their storyboard.

  • Before Session 2, encourage people to be fully caught up on their storyboard. As the sessions continue, we will build upon the previous, so having their storyboard done will set them up for success.
